Methods and Supplements

Violin
For my younger students or those looking for a simpler approach I use the All for Strings method. It breaks down the strings and the notes very clearly and starts off slow with basic rhythms. I like to start my older students or those with prior music experience on the Suzuki method. It jumps right into playing, using familiar tunes and a variety of rhythms. We then supplement the method with other songs to the students interest - usually Disney, fiddle tunes, or some other music the student enjoys.

Guitar
I like to start all of my students out on the Mel Bay Modern Guitar method. The book starts out slow and easy. You begin on each individual string learning a set of tunes and then adding the next string on. It builds into beautiful pieces by adding in chords and rhythms. Students may also be supplemented with chord sheets or tabs of their choice.

Piano
My piano students usually start with the Piano Adventures method. It starts slow and simple with the primer level and has some great review going into each rising level. New ideas are added with each song. Students may also be supplemented with material pertaining to something they may struggle with or something they particularly enjoy.
